The scope of the Director of Engineering role includes, but is not limited to the following:
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, safety and evaluation of the Baker engineering groups across all locations and affiliate companies through interviewing, mentoring, coaching and evaluations.
Provide formwork design support for engineering groups including: forming, shoring, reshoring, safety applications, crane foundations and layouts, placing boom applications, etc.
Manage the global engineering group’s resources to facilitate timely production of drawings and work orders for fabrication and installation of all forming & shoring systems used by BCCI.
Develop, implement and continuously update Baker global engineering standards, methods and best practices (i.e. standard details, drawings, symbol libraries etc.)
Represent BCCI and provide seminars/ presentations to relevant industry groups, universities, clients and co-workers.
Proactively review drawings of high-risk projects during preconstruction and estimating phase as well as the design/drawing phase
Assist in the identification and selection of appropriate formwork systems to include design parameters, cost effectiveness, and productivity considerations across all regions
Please note that this position can be based out of any of the 5 locations listed
·Bachelor’s degree in engineering from four-year college or university and 10-12 years related engineering/construction experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
·Have a thorough understanding of AutoCAD/BIM.
·Must have a Professional Engineering license
·Experience in leading/managing an Engineering Group preferably across multiple locations.
