Baker Concrete Construction, Inc., one of the nation’s largest concrete contractors is searching for a Finisher Foreman. The Finisher Foreman is responsible for assigned facets of concrete placement, finishing and curing. Provides direction and supervision to assigned personnel and determines when to delegate or actually perform the work. May be required to drive Baker vehicles and must comply with Company and DOT regulations. The Finisher Foreman is the lead trainer and motivator for his crew.
Duties and Responsibilities
Plans, Coordinates, and Executes Placement of Concrete: Plans, coordinates, assigns and participates in the execution and completion of finisher work, including the following duties: Responsible for safety, quality and productivity (SQP) of the crew; holds morning huddles/Mission Task Analysis (MTA) covering daily work plans that include SQP. Defines how concrete will be safely poured by determining direction, deck loading and flow of work. Defines location of placement equipment, establishes finish grade and determines type of equipment to achieve said grade. Recommends measures to improve production results and equipment performance. Identifies the personnel to do the various assignments in placing/finishing a slab. Responsible for the protection and clean-up of in place work before during and after the completion of a pour. Supervises and/or performs placing, finishing curing, and cutting of concrete slabs, patching and repairing of concrete work, concrete restoration, concrete joint treatments, applications of floor toppings. Ensures floor finishes meet project requirements through an understanding of Fl and FF. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all tools and equipment required. Ensures proper maintenance of place/finish equipment and tools. Ensures that the Finish Foreman truck is properly equipped to do a 20,000 SF pour. Reports daily time and quantities. Reviews daily productivity targets with crew. Maintains daily log book. Responsible for maintaining “Black Book”.
Provides Direction for Crew: Assesses crew or production problems and recommends solutions such as improving production methods. Motivates crew.
Work Environment: Work involves exposure to outside weather conditions and dirt, dust, fumes and/or loud noises.
Ensures a Safe Work Environment
Participates in Training/Certifications
High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years' related experience and/or training
Proficient in concrete mix designs and effects of its usage
ACI Flatwork Finisher Certification
Know the abbreviated and common construction terms for the equipment and materials used
Ability to direct work and evaluate strengths and weaknesses of co-workers
Ability to read and comprehend documents such as blueprints and construction drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual
Must have the ability to exert heavy physcial effort, handling average weight objects up to 50 pounds
Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, climb or crawl
Able to pass a required background check
Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident
Per diem will be offer depending on distance from project
